The Last Exit
USA 7th Heaven - Silver First off i would like to thank melodicrock.com for turning me on to this band as i checked out the soundbytes on the page and have been hooked ever since! I decided to contact the band and see if i could get a copy of the cd to play on The Last Exit For The Lost, a radio show my friend has on WVBR 93.5 located in Ithaca, NY Well I recieved a copy of 7th Heaven just the other day and haven't had it out of my cd player yet. This is a 2 cd set consisting of a white disk which features the first cd and a black disk which is the newer stuff and i have to say if they stick with the newer direction this band WILL be huge if given the right chance to shine! The reviews i have read compares them to Def Lep and yes i can see the comparison ... but only in the great melodies that they write and for the layered technique on the vocals and guitars. 7th heaven definitely have a sound all their own. They kind of remind me of a band from the 80's called GUN if anyone remembers them. From the opening tracks Gravity and Cellphane your hooked and can't help sing along to the great choruses. I was pleasently surprised by the diversity of the songs such as Ethereal which could be a dance club track because of the great beat of the song...ok i can hear the moaning now but the song is so catchy that you really don't notice the dance track feel. I was also blown away by the next to last track which reminded me of old Queensryche which in my opinion is one of the best tracks on the cd. I highly recommend this cd for those of you who are looking for good melodic rock with great hooks. This cd is refreshing at a time where everyone wants to be the next Godsmack or Disturbed . So if there are any record execs reading this one word of advice get in contact with this band as i feel that with the right promotion 7th Heaven could be HUGE!!! Al "Gorgar" Reese 7th heaven is now being played on "The Last Exit" Radio show.. check out the website - http://www.TheLastExit.org |
